Capital projects in Sydenham District 2011 – 2014.

As part of the budget process, council approved a four-year infrastructure renewal project plan. This assists staff in packaging specific jobs for a larger, more attractive (and cheaper) bidding process with contractors. It also delineates clearly for the Public Works Department where repairs must be reviewed on a regular basis as capital work is not currently planned.

New efficiencies allow local road work spending to increase by about 30 percent.

This practice began in the last council, with a three-year project plan. That experience has enabled staff to increase the local road work (as distinct from arterial roads) spending allocation by about 30 percent.

You will see below, by year, the approved plan. Following the media release expected in April, the updated project list will also be available on the city’s web site. Please note the new cycling lanes.
